Built because the sticky-note way did not work
OmniAccount started as one person's own books: several businesses, banks in more than one country, rental property, investments. Every spreadsheet broke the same way.
Before OmniAccount, an invoice was like a sticky note sitting next to the real books rather than a page inside them. Raising a bill showed up nowhere until the bank cleared the payment. A tenant was a name tagged onto a transaction, not a ledger of their own. So the foundation was rebuilt the way Tally and QuickBooks do it: every tenant, client and vendor is a real ledger from the moment it exists, every invoice posts a real entry the day it is raised, and every transaction must balance or it cannot be saved.
The second rule was plain words. The people who need this are landlords, small firm owners, investors and families, not accountants. So every screen says Money In and Money Out, Received from and Paid to. Debit and Credit are a setting for those who want them, and Tally terms appear only inside Help as translations.
The third rule is honesty about status. The features page lists what is built; what is only planned is marked ⏳ Planned. The security page lists the known gaps next to what is in place.
